Why an ETFs index instead of a Mutual Index Fund?

If you plan to invest long term, the difference between the two are not that big. That said ETFs:

• are generally cheaper than mutual index funds, if bought commission-free,
• have often lower minimum investments,
• are more tax-efficient.
