Trends.co: 1.2M at Launch
The Story
Sam launched Trends, a premium research product at 30K in one day.
The full launch attracted 4,000 paying subscribers: $1.2M in annual recurring revenue from day one.
Trends was a research platform spotting business opportunities before they went mainstream. It grew to 10,000+ subscribers and $5M in total sales before being included in the HubSpot acquisition.
Sam’s biggest pricing regret: it should have been 300.
Lesson for Creators
Test demand with a presale before building the full product. Sam used a Gumroad page to validate $30K in one day. Also: most creators underprice. Sam wishes he’d charged 100x more for business customers. If your audience is professionals who make money from your insights, you’re probably leaving enormous value on the table.
