Keywords to use in an article

Choose 5-15 keywords to mention in your article.

  • General main keywords 1-3 words with search volume above 1.000 per month. These keywords will typically take years to rank for due to high competition, and should not be your main target.
  • Specific main keywords. One level more specific than the general main keywords and your most important keywords. Target 2-5 words with a search volume around 100–1.000 and medium to high competitiveness.
  • Long-tail keywords. These should be highly niched keywords. 3-6 words and less than 100 searches per month. Ranking on these can help you rank on the more competitive keywords and can take less than a month (if your article is good) and sometimes even overnight (depending on the niche and your domain strength and age).
