Optin form and lead’s name
Don’t ask for the lead’s name in the optin form. Using it in the newsletter create a fake personalization. Plus, it can generate awkward moments if:
- the lead gives you a wrong name,
- you write in a gender specific language.
Even more, it creates unnecessary attrition in the subscription phase. ”But if they don’t trust you enough to give you the name, why bother?” At this stage they do NOT trust you enough. That’s why you want them in your mailing list. When they subscribe you have a chance to grow their trust through your newsletters.
