Rational mis-integrations
A lot of people read smart books. A lot of people write smart content. Almost none strives for internal coherence. Apparently smart people run around chasing the new shiny idea. They don’t integrate it with the rest of their principle and knowledge. They put in Evernote. Another idea to increase the mental chaos.
Private conversation Person X is a freelancer. He’s sure that ”The path to success is possible only for an independent thinker as Steve Jobs”. Then the conversation turns on Harari’s books. And he gets excited about a completely opposite idea: “Oh look how cool Harari says that humans are great just because of their ability to cooperate in large groups”. No integrations, just a constant chase for the next “shiny” idea. Joe Rogan and Gad Saad Podcast episode They agree on the importance of free speech. Then the conversation moves to social media and their content bans. And they agree that the government has to regulate Twitter & co. Apparently a private business that manages its own platform with its priorities is not ok. This is in itself a contradiction, without considering that both of them have a podcast and they routinely refuse certain guests.
